• Transrectal method ultrasound of the prostatedoes not require a full bladder. On the day before the procedure it is necessary to have a cleansing enema.
• Transabdominal method ultrasound of the prostaterequires a full bladder and it is necessary to not urinate for 2-3 hours before the test. An hour before the procedure, drink 1 liter of water without gas or another non-carbonated liquid.
• Ultrasound of the bladderin both men and women is done with a full bladder and it is necessary to not urinate for 2-3 hours before the test. If there is a strong urge to urinate, there may be a partial emptying of the bladder followed by administration of a small amount of liquid before the time of the study to achieve complete filling of the bladder.
